Combining majors helps this video-maker succeed

Sam Blaufuss Freshman Sam Blaufuss makes the best of two worlds by combining classes from the KU School of Journalism and the College. As a double-major in strategic communications and film & media studies, with an emphasis in production, Sam has classes and experiences that will prepare him for the world beyond college. But Blaufuss isn't all work and no play - he can be spotted on campus wearing a pair of boots that he got and wore at an old job working at the cemetery in his hometown of Newton, Kansas!

Here's Sam in three quotes:

Sam Blaufuss with the text ''My majors complement each other particularly well in the area of video production, especially in this day and age where media is progressing more rapidly than ever before.'sunset at the campanile with the text 'My main career aspiration upon arriving at college was to go into the field of commercial video production. I decided to major in film and media production to develop a better understanding of the craft, and I also chose an additional major in journalism (specifically strategic communications) to better understand digital media in society and because the strategic communications pathway contains many other career options that I would be content with pursuing.'The KU Natural History Museum tower and the text 'My favorite times at KU have probably been in my media and society course, Proessor Benson is unlike any educator I've had before, and I'm sure there are many thousands who can say the same.'
